At The Meadows Original Frozen Custard of Helotes, our family opened this shop with three core values in mind:
Family First – We believe in working together as a family, building something meaningful, and sharing our passion with others.
Community Matters – Our shop is more than just a place for frozen custard; it’s a space for friends, families, and neighbors to gather, connect, and create memories. We actively participate in community events and love giving back to the town we call home.
Supporting Growth – Our employees are an extension of our family. We are committed to fostering a positive and supportive work environment where they can grow, succeed, and feel valued.
This page is dedicated to our community activities. We know there are lots of little events in people's lives happening at The Meadows without us being involved. Feel free to share photos and stories with us at TheMeadowsHelotes@gmail.com!
Easter Egg Hunt with Ma's Ranch
On Sunday, April 6, 2025, families gathered at Culebra Creek Park in San Antonio for the annual Bunny Bash: The Egg Hunt With A Purpose, hosted by MA's Ranch & Rescue. This cherished community event combined festive Easter activities with a mission to support local students in need.
Among the highlights was the participation of The Meadows Original Frozen Custard of Helotes, which delighted attendees with their signature frozen custard and Italian ice. Their presence not only added a sweet touch to the festivities but also underscored their commitment to community engagement.

Helotes, TX – April 2025
March was full of flavor—and competition! The Meadows Original Frozen Custard brought the madness in the sweetest way possible with our Sweet 16 Flavor Bracket, where fan-favorite frozen custard flavors went head-to-head for the ultimate title: Flavor Champion of 2025.
Our bracket kicked off with 16 of the most-loved flavors, including everything from rich Chocolate Peanut Butter and nostalgic Dreamsicle to bold newcomers like Espresso Nutella. Fans voted round after round, narrowing down the competition in a flurry of scoops, sprinkles, and sweet debates.
The final matchup? A true showdown:
🍪 Cookies & Cream vs. 🍃 Mint Oreo
Both flavors have earned their place in Meadows history, but after a flurry of last-minute votes and some nail-biting anticipation, Cookies & Cream emerged victorious! This classic flavor proved it still reigns supreme, winning hearts—and taste buds—with its perfect balance of creamy vanilla and crunchy chocolate cookies.
The Sweet 16 bracket wasn’t just about picking a winner. It was about community fun, frozen custard fanfare, and celebrating the flavors that make The Meadows a Helotes favorite. From playful predictions to friendly flavor rivalries, the excitement was real—and we loved every second of it!

Helotes Chamber of Commerce Awards Dinner
The Meadows Honored with President's Circle Sponsorship at Helotes Chamber of Commerce Awards Dinner
Helotes, TX – March 22, 2025
The Meadows Original Frozen Custard is proud to announce that we were awarded the President's Circle sponsorship at the Helotes Chamber of Commerce Awards Dinner held on March 22, 2025.
This prestigious recognition highlights our commitment to excellence, community involvement, and support of local business growth here in Helotes. Being part of the Chamber has allowed us to connect with incredible local leaders and contribute to the thriving spirit of our hometown—and we’re honored to be acknowledged in this way.
The awards dinner was a night to remember, filled with celebration, connection, and recognition of the people and businesses that help make Helotes such a special place. We are deeply grateful to the Chamber of Commerce for this honor and for creating such a meaningful event.
At The Meadows, our mission goes beyond just serving delicious frozen custard (though we do that really well! 😉). It’s about creating a space where community, joy, and great service come together—and we’re excited to continue doing just that.
We look forward to many more sweet moments ahead—both in a cone and in our community!
On March 4, Sofia Resendez, Mariah Rowland, and Ben Gerber visited us with the goal of rasing money to support research for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). In their words, "Over 70 years ago, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) was founded by a family that lost their son to leukemia—a disease that was considered fatal at the time. Since its founding, LLS has evolved into the world’s largest nonprofit dedicated to fighting blood cancers, pioneering many of today’s most innovative cancer treatments and therapies. Despite our tremendous progress, one simple fact remains: nearly 50,000 individuals lose their battle against cancer every year in the U.S. alone, and, unfortunately, some of those individuals are children. Our campaign team’s goal is to raise $60,000, by March 8, 2025."
We were honored to support the team in their endeavors. They even collaborated with the San Antonio Broncos Club for even more support! Great job team! We know everyone had a great time and there were some very cool Broncos to see!
On February 26, Trinity Erwin held a fundraiser for her NHS project to support sending books to build libraries in Africa. In her words, "To build a library in Africa, you must collect 1,500 books and $1,000 to ship the books to Africa. I also did a drive in 8th grade. I have already collected the books; however, I am still short $600 for shipping."
Trinity is a passionate person who is energetic and lights up a room. She organized the O'Connor Theater group to come out and perform during her fundraiser and advertised on social media. It was an epic night for everyone and there were lots of smiles and echos of laughter all around.
We were honored to have her and to support her and her cause. We know she will do great things in the future and cannot wait to see what she does with her energy and talents!
On February 22, the Negative Influence Crew came to visit for their monthly meet up and to enjoy Meadows treats. It was a cold, rainy, and gloomy day but there were A LOT of cool cars to see. We had Nunchux food truck visit us and make up some awesome eggrolls and noodle bowls that have everyone craving more desserts!
The Negative Influence crew meets multiple times a week at various locations around town. They meet at The Meadows the last Friday of every month. Mark your calendars and follow us and them on Instagram for more details.
The first Saturday of every month is always a fun one for us at The Meadows because we get to go out and serve our delicious frozen custard and Italian ice at the Helotes Market Days! We really enjoy getting out and meeting new people. This event allowed us to meet LOTS of people on a PERFECT day! We sold chocolate and vanilla frozen custard and 4 of our most popular flavors of Italian ice: Blue Raspberry, Cherry, Mango, and Root Beer. Lots of folks were trying gelatis where we layer the Italian ice and frozen custard (root beer and vanilla tastes like a root beer float!). Many were blown away and came back more than once!
This was also the debut of our new pop up tent with our logo and branding! Venessa put her skills and tools to work to make all the logos and lettering. We all know she did an amazing job and really brings the whole thing together in a way that looks perfect! Great job Venessa!
After finishing a great day at Helotes Market Days, we decided to go to The Helotes Family Food Truck Park! If you haven't visited, there are pickleball courts, food trucks, cornhole, a bar, a putting green, and lots of other fun stuff to do. The weather continued to be perfect and once the sun set, lots of our friends came out to visit. We got to chat with people late into the evening and serve our delicious desserts to customers who knew us and to folks who were just meeting us for the first time. We look forward to being at the Helotes Family Food Truck Park more often!
